Our Mission

We improve survival rates in Mississippi by training bystanders to save lives where they live, work, worship, and gather.

Why we do it

Ready or Not?

We deliver emergency readiness training where Mississippi residents live, work, worship, and gather.

You will find us in public libraries, offices, businesses, community groups, churches, and other local hosting sites, sharing practical skills that help people act with confidence when seconds matter.

Our Programs

CPR Power Hours

We prepare bystanders through free CPR Power Hours for groups of up to 20 people. In a short, hands on session, participants learn how to:

  • Develop quiet courage
  • Recognize an emergency
  • Call 911 clearly and quickly
  • Perform Hands Only CPR
  • Use an AED with confidence

Certification Classes

For people who need deeper training, we offer American Red Cross certification classes, with certificates valid for two years:

  • Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR, AED
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

This training is delivered in a blended format and meets OSHA workplace requirements.

Our Seat Bank reduces cost barriers so learners are not turned away. It also helps our instructors meet learners where they are, especially in rural and resource challenged communities.

Why trust us?

Stories That Strengthen

Learning that Lifts

Stories That Strengthen is a volunteer-led personal readiness program that helps adults recognize and apply the life lessons within their own experiences.

In free workshops, local Readiness Coaches share simple, relatable stories and guided reflection questions in community settings like churches, libraries, and workplaces. Participants reflect privately, engage in structured, low-pressure group dialogue, and carry practical takeaways into daily life.

This story-based micro-learning model supports stronger decision-making, safer choices, and greater self-advocacy.

As part of our broader goal to expand readiness and basic emergency skills in rural Mississippi, Stories That Strengthen builds connection, confidence, and a foundation for long-term community resilience.
